What is an IP Address ?
An IP address (Internet Protocol address) is a unique address that some
electronic devices use in order to identify and communicate with each other on
a computer network. These electronic devices can be routers, computers,
printers, some telephones, IP fax machines etc. In this case, you use your
computer to view this page and it’s your computer’s IP address.
In some cases, the same IP address is shared by multiple computers. This is
because they are part of a proxy server like an ISP that acts as an agent on
behalf of its customers. If this is the case, what you see as an IP Address on
this page is not your computers real IP address, but network IP Address that’s
assigned by your ISP. If this is the case for you, then under "More
Information" section, you'll see also your computers IP Address within this
network, otherwise it is hidden from you and you don't see this information on
this page.
